Early Years and Key stage 1 ICT

Our Keystage 1 children enjoy using the computers, both classroom and the laptops, and other ICT equipment  to support all their work.  They love to draw, write, make animations and a whole host of a variety of tasks. Below are some examples of their work and their use of ICT.

Our reception children use the computers as soon as they start school. Using the computer suite, their whiteboard in the classroom, the beebots, playing with interactive toys, e.g  electronic till, toy microwave etc are just some of the examples.

They also use the microphones and the microscope.  They are taught the importance of e safety by beginning to use a simple log in name.

In year 1 & 2 the skills taught in the Early Years are built upon, with the introduction of new software and equipment.

The children cover all areas of ICT and begin to use the video cameras, cameras, recording their own voices, and My First Place ( our VLE) is introduced to them, so they then have home access to work from school.
