Residential Trips

Threemilestone School has a comprehensive programme of residential trips which children from Years 2 to 6 can gain access to.  The camp programme is progressive to suit the age groups that they are targetted at and are designed to help children to grow in confidence as they progress through the school.

Year 2 & 3 Camp

Sleeping in tents in a designated Cornwall Council owned and run campsite the children spend two days and one night at the camp.  They take part in various outdoor activities including woodland walks, forest art, woodcraft and den building and many more.  This year the camp was at Nine Ashes Camp near Bodmin. This camp costs around £60 per child.

Year 4 Camp

This is held at the Roseland Outdoor Education facility in St Just in Roseland.  The children stay two nights and three days.  They take part in activities such as archery, orienteering, climbing and abseiling, kayaking, sailing and a beach trip.  This camp costs in the region of £160

Year 5 & 6 Trip to London or Porthpean Camp

In Years 5 & 6 the trips are held on a two year rotation, so children are given the opportunity to go to either London in Year 5 or 6 and in the alternate year they get the opportunity to go to Porthpean camp.
The London trip is a 3 night 4 day trip to see everything that the capital city of England can offer.  This is a very busy trip, which fills up very quickly.  This costs in the region of £285.
Porthpean camp is under canvas and the children take part in activities such as kayaking, mountain biking, climbing, orienteering, problem solving.  This is a four night five day trip which takes the children away from home for nearly a whole school week.  This camp costs in the region of £285.
These camps can only take place with the help of willing members of staff and Governors who give up their time (and energy) to provide the children with some really life changing experiences. Our grateful thanks goes to those adults.
