Ofsted:

A SUCCESSFUL OFSTED INSPECTION for Threemilestone School

The pupils, staff and governors of Threemilestone School have been celebrating the successful and positive outcome of their recent school inspection.

A team of OfSTED inspectors visited the school for two days in May and spent time observing lessons, talking to parents, pupils, governors and staff, reviewing data and books.

Their written report makes excellent reading and the inspectors commented positively on many aspects of the school.

Mark Lees, Headteacher said that he was particularly pleased that they judged the behaviour, attitudes and safety of pupils to be ‘outstanding’. They noted that ‘our pupils are keen to do well in lessons and thrive on responsibility. The pupils love coming to school and feel very safe’.

The school inspectors noted ‘that all groups of pupils make good progress and pupil’s attainment is above average’. They spent time in many lessons and stated ‘that teaching is good and contributes strongly to the good achievement’.

In meeting many parents and reading their responses to questionnaires, the school inspectors could see that parents are ‘appreciative of the school both for the quality of care for their children and the progress they make’.

The school inspectors have left the school with the task to ensure that the good and outstanding teaching becomes even better.

David Moore, Chair of Governors congratulated the staff, pupils and governors saying that he was particularly pleased that the inspectors noted ‘the leadership of the school is committed to continually improving the school and raising its performance to the highest levels.’ Mr Moore said ‘the school has had many successes since the last inspection in 2009.  The inspection team recognised that we can improve even further. Our school has many outstanding aspects highlighted in the report and I am proud to be a governor of this successful school.’
