Year 5 is made up of two classes.
Duporth Class is taught by Miss Davies with the amazing help of our teaching assistant, Mrs Hick.
Helford Class is taught by Mr Hick with fantastic support from Miss Spargo.
Mrs Moses and Mrs Sutcliffe also take us for some lessons throughout the week.
Our topic this term is: THE VICTORIANS!!
Most of the work we will learn this term will be based around this topic. For example:
We will be basing all of our History topic around Victorians, including: Schools, Industrial Revolution and Royalty and in our Literacy lessons we will be exploring lots of exciting Victorian literature, including The Jabberwocky and Street Child.
In Science, we will be learning all about the Earth, Moon and Stars! We will be learning all about the Solar System.
PE lessons will take place on Tuesday and Friday afternoons, so it is important that children come prepared with their PE kits on those days so they don't miss out on all the fun, physical activities we have planned.
It is also important for our Year 5's to take responsibility for their own learning by participating in all homework activities that will be set this term - Homework timetables can be found stuck in the front of their homework books. Within Duporth class, we also have an open door policy so feel free to pop in and see us any time!
In this term's unit of Art we will be learning to create some Victorian artwork based around L.S Lowry and William Morris.
We are learning how to use the internet safely as well as creating our own blogs and websites.
The Attendance Cup for the week of 3 July - 7 July 2017 was awarded to Helford Class with 100%. Well done keep up the good work!
