What a fantastic trip to the National Maritime Museum for our Let’s Go Exploring STAR learning!
After boarding the bus and being eager to get going, we were soon on our way down to Falmouth, where the brilliant staff of the museum were waiting to greet us so our trip could really begin. On our visit, we were lucky enough to explore the museum from the very top of the viewing tower, all the way down to below sea level! Not only did we get to view lots of different boats and vessels, but we also got to take part in a really exciting workshop all about Sir Francis Drake. This included looking at maps, learning about the kinds of treasures Drake brought back with him, and even building our own sailing ships that were actually tested on the water at the museum.
Can you remember any facts about Sir Francis Drake?
All of the children had a brilliant time and were a credit to the school. Well done, Year 2!
