In our assembly on Monday we learnt all about the recent eruption of Mount Stromboli in Italy. We located the island of Stromboli on a number of maps and then found out that this volcano has been erupting regularly for the last 90 years. After watching videos of the most recent eruption, we discussed the impact of volcanic eruptions on people and why they might still choose to live close to volcanoes. What an interesting start to the week.

Mr Rutterford was so excited sharing on of his favourite stories!
In our Art and Design Assemblies over the last two weeks, Miss Bryant and Miss Body have loved talking to the children in Ks1 and Ks2 about a variety of Art-related topics! In her first Ks2 Art Assembly, Miss Body had the children engage with a ‘Art Knowledge Trivia Kahoot’, which tested the children on their retrieval skills. We are very proud to say that the children achieved a fantastic score of 13/15! The second Ks2 Art assembly taught the children about a very popular artist amongst our TMS children – the one and only Frida Kahlo!
In Miss Bryant’s Ks1 assemblies, she talked to the children about two fantastic stories: ‘Mixed’ by Arree Chung and ‘Little Blue and Little Yellow’ by Leo Lionni.
