Where learning is fuelled by creativity

EYFS Blog ~ WB 9.12.19

13th December 2019 in Early Years

What an amazing week this has been for our EYFS children! On Tuesday, during our final rehearsal before performing our nativity, there was a power cut which lasted for the whole duration and yet the children managed to remain completely focused in the dark, with no backing music, which proved to be a great preparation for the performance! We were so incredibly proud of all the children and they way they performed the nativity with such great confidence! Thank you all so much for your help in preparing your own children at home, for being such a fabulous audience, and for all the lovely comments and feedback we have received since.

In other learning…we have consolidated our knowledge of 1 more and 1 less than a given number, had a focus on our ‘tricky words’ (these are now in the phonic pouches to practise at home ~ remember they are tricky and so can’t be sounded out), and have written about our roles in the nativity. Outdoors we have enjoyed building sleighs for Father Christmas and planting bulbs in preparation for the spring term. Have a wonderful weekend before our final week of the term.
