Where learning is fuelled by creativity

EYFS ~ Week beginning 23rd September 2019

27th September 2019 in Early Years, Uncategorized

What an exciting and busy week we’ve had in EYFS!

In phonics we have learned the sounds ‘t’ and ‘p‘. To help us learn the ‘p‘ sound PC Beckett came to visit us and talked all about being a police officer and how they are here to protect us. We also got to try on some police uniform and had a great time learning and exploring the police van.

We ended the week by making porridge, painting police officers and playing percussion instruments, (counting to 4 to reinforce our maths learning).

As discussed in the Curriculum meeting on Wednesday, you will find a wordless reading book in your child’s Reading folder. Please let your child tell you the story to begin with and as your child becomes more familiar with the book over a few days ask them questions to help develop their vocabulary and expand on their understanding of the story. Please write in your child’s Reading diary each day to let us know how they’re getting on.

Next week look out for the new sound pouches in their Reading folder!

Have a wonderful weekend!
