Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Monarchy Day

What an amazing procession of kings, queens, princes, princessess, emperors and other leaders we had through our school on Friday! We celebrated Monarchy Day by learning about the coronation and the role of the royal family in today’s society and then thinking about leaders from different periods of history. We practiced the skills of being an historian: significance, cause and consequence as well as interpreting historical evidence. The children produced some wonderful art: drawing portraits, designing crowns and making castles.  In our whole-school assembly in the afternoon, children from Early Years to Year 6 confidently talked about what they had learnt. They all did a brilliant job and made us very proud – well done!
