29th May 2020 in Whole School

We hope that you have all had a  wonderful half term, treasuring time as a family and having fun. As the ‘lockdown’ is slowly lifting, we are hoping you are doing everything you can do, to keep you, your family and our community safe.

As many of you know, TMS School has remained open every day since 20th March and our teaching staff and support staff have been in school having a great time with our gang of ‘Key Worker children’.  This has been an amazing experience and I would like to take the time to not only thank our staff who have provided many exciting opportunities for the children, but also to this group of children who have worked together, played together and made these weeks at school so special to all adults involved. Every Friday night without fail, I have received messages from our staff to say how proud and fortunate they have been to spend time with you all. A strange and challenging time made better for spending time with ‘the gang’- thank you!

I would also like to thank Mr Hick, Mrs Ewart, Mrs Brown and Mrs Coleman for their time this week in school to enable our staff to have a half term to refresh, and be ready for the next challenge.

Plans for 1st June

Plans have been made, countless risk assessments have been written and rooms are ready. But, the most important thing is that staff have been working hard to plan for exciting learning opportunities for the children who are returning. We are keen to make what may be considered an alien environment in strange times, an enriching and nurturing time for our children to return to school. We have 45% of children in EYFS, Years 1 and 6 returning on Monday, as well as our group of children of Key Workers – and we can’t wait to see every single one of them! I am hoping that you have all watched the short video clip we have shared which shows the routine for Monday morning and beyond.

If you haven’t already and it applies to you, please return the sandwich ordering form and for all children who are coming back into school, please ensure that you have returned the data information sheet, which was sent home with the reports in May

In EYFS, we will have 3 bubbles and the teachers will be Mrs Brown, Mr Rutterford and Mr Bagley. The support staff will be Mrs Stephens, Mrs Davies, Miss Tickle, Miss Moyle, Mrs Henley and Mrs Hayes.

In Year 1 we will have 2 bubbles and the teachers will be Mr Lara and Mrs Bolt. The support staff will be Miss Reid, Mrs Rankine, Miss Penrose, Mr Szymanek, Mrs Blight, Mrs Hick and Mrs Williams.

In Year 6 we will have 3 bubbles and the teachers will be Miss Bowen and Mr Newsome. The support staff will be Miss Andrew, Mrs Thomas, Mr Kellow, Mr Hamshar, Mrs Pascoe and Mrs Ascroft.

The children of Key Workers are in 2 bubbles and the teachers will be Mrs Coleman, Miss Bryant and Mr Wake and they will be supported by Mrs Lean.

All other staff are supporting children’s learning at home.

If you are unsure of the adults please look on the website to familiarise yourself with your team for the next few weeks: https://www.threemilestone.cornwall.sch.uk/our-people/

Please could children bring in their bags a named bottle of water, a piece of fruit for snack time, their reading folder (including sounds and maths pouches where applicable), and a pencil case.

If you are wanting your child to start on 8th June, then you must request a booking form from Mrs Weston and return the Google Form to school by 3pm on Monday 1st June. This is for children in EYFS, years 1 and 6, as well as children of Key workers. We appreciate you giving us this amount of notice, which is needed in order to plan for bubbles and redo any risk assessments which may change with the predicted increased number of children. Children who are already booked in, will not need to rebook every week.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to accept any child who has not been booked in.

Learning at home

As you already are aware, all teaching staff that are able to, are in school teaching a ‘bubble’ all day every day. The learning on the website will continue to be responded to, but please be aware that there may be a delay due to being busy in the school day. We will endeavour to do our very best to keep up!

Year 6 RLS transition

Please can you all check you have returned all the admissions forms for RLS. Unless they have received them all back, the transition process cannot start and tutor groups cannot be confirmed. Thank you
