Safer Internet Day 2022

11th February 2022 in Online safety

This year Safer internet day fell on 8th March with the theme – All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online.

From gaming and chat, to streaming and video, young people are shaping the interactive entertainment spaces they are a part of. Safer Internet Day 2022 celebrates young people’s role in creating a safer internet, whether that is whilst gaming and creating content, or interacting with their friends and peers.

In school, we will have an assembly where children will look into how their interactions online could affect their relationship with the people they know and how to stay safe around people who they don’t know.

Classroom activities will be based around good digital citizenship and online respect using resources from Commonsense Media, CEOP and Childnet.

Digital Fairytales are available here and are a great way to support discussion about online safety with children of Primary ages.
