It is with much frustration that the definition of ‘key workers’ will not be released until tomorrow. As a school, we are not keen to put out a data collection on what we speculate will be ‘key workers’ as that will leave us with uninformed numbers and lead to a high level of confusion. There is a lot of speculation on social media sites, but nothing officially released from the Government.
However, we feel it is important that we do share some additional information with you:
* The school will be closed at 3.15 on Friday 20th March, except for children with EHCPlans, Children who have a social worker and children of ‘key workers’.
*It is our understanding that this provision will ONLY be for single parent/carers who are key workers and where BOTH parents/carers are key workers.
* School provision should only be used if there is no other source of childcare for the ‘key workers’.
* School provision will be childcare, not teaching.
* School provision for children of ‘key workers’ will be from Monday 23rd March and will be available throughout the Easter holidays, excluding Bank Holidays.
The school appreciates the high level of support we have received from our families in these uncertain times and we will get this ‘list’ out to you as soon as possible through ‘Google forms’.
How long the schools will remain closed? The answer is indefinitely. There is no information that we know, that you do not! We know that this is causing much anxiety, especially in our year 6 children, but we hope to ease that slightly with vast amounts of media presence planned from our staff!
Thank you again for your patience and support.
