Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Soccer Aid – Friday 14th June

7th June 2019 in Sports, Whole School

Soccer Aid – Friday 14th June. This year we’re really excited to be getting involved this year with our very own Playground Challenge! To raise money we are asking children to come to school wearing sporty clothes and get involved by completing the sponsored ‘Playground Challenge’ obstacle course. Letters and sponsor form were sent home with children today.

After school we will also be holding a penalty shoot-out against the teachers – £1 for 3 shots. Please take the time to look at the website for why we are getting involved and supporting Soccer Aid for Unicef.

How can you help?

We would love to invite your children to join in the fun! In return for a donation, children will all be able to take part. Every £1 our school raises for Soccer Aid for Unicef until 23 July 2019 it will be doubled by the UK government – up to £3m, making double the difference to children’s lives. Remember to wear your best outfit to take on the challenge!

Help your child get sponsorship for the challenge. Send your child to school dressed in their sporty clothing. Support the penalty shoot out straight after school on the field. Thank you!

Why are we doing it?

Childhood should be one endless playtime. The money we raise can help provide life-saving food and vaccines, life-changing education and protection from violence so that more children are able simply to be children. Just £20 could provide antibiotics to fully treat 50 children suffering from pneumonia, and if our school raises £172 this could provide a nursery-in-a-box full of toys, games and books to help children learn through play.

We really appreciate your support and hope that you will join us to play, fundraise and change children’s lives. Please do get in touch if you have any questions at all, and to find out more about Soccer Aid for Unicef, visit socceraid.org.uk.
