The Big Pedal 2019

8th March 2019 in Sports, Wellbeing, Whole School

This is a National Competition where schools enter and compete for the most walking, scooting or cycling journeys to their school during the period of the comp. The Big Pedal is run by SUSTRANS. This year the challenge runs between 25 March-5 April and includes Scooting, Cycling and new for this yearWalking to school over the 10 days.

They have a very good website –  bigpedal.org.uk.
Historically, we are usually very successful, but we have not yet been the best school in Cornwall, only the second best.
This is your early warning to dust off your scooters and bikes and make plans to travel to school without using the car. For those families who live too far away to not drive, it is perfectly acceptable for you to park on the outskirts of TMS and walk, scoot or cycle the last bit!
There will be prize stickers left randomly on bikes and scooters parked at school.
We are also hoping to have a Dr Bike day at school, so that you can treat your bike or scooter to a little free service. Date to follow.
