I had the great pleasure of accompanying the Year 6 Netball Team to Penair School on Friday to compete in a qualifying tournament for the Cornwall Games.
Teams from Truro High, Truro Prep, Devoran, Kea, Mount Hawke, St Agnes, Archbishop Benson and Tregolls were assembled to compete in a round robin competition alongside our very well prepared squad from TMS.
Players rotated around the five positions, changing after each half.
Each and every child who competed for us showed incredible spirit and determination. They played as one. Their skill, vision and understanding of the game was amazing and was rewarded : they won all 8 of their matches!!
Mali, Mia, Sophie, Ziva, Charlie, Evie and Joey amassed 163 points – all scoring over 10 points – with Charlie finishing top scorer with 49.
The victory ended with the presentation of winners’ medals and confirmation that their achievement qualified them for the forthcoming Cornwall Games final.
Well done and congratulations!
Mr Osborne
