Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Weekly Newsletter 1.5.20

1st May 2020 in Whole School

This week I am sure all of us have celebrated the extraordinary achievements of Colonel Tom and his 100th birthday celebration, and the country is building to the excitement of the  VE celebrations. Although I am sure it is celebrated in very different ways than planned, we are hoping that the learning set next week will provide many discussion points for your family.

From what we are hearing from school, this week has been tough for many – with the novelty of being at home wearing off, and with a turn in the weather, we have heard that many of our children are missing school, and more importantly their friends. If you want to send a “ImissTMS” clip into Mr Lara – year2homelearning@threemilestone.cornwall sch.uk, he is putting a film together to share with everyone!

Annual reports to parents/carers

On Tuesday 5th May, the annual reports to parents/carers will be posted home. If you require a second report for your family, please contact the office on secretary@threemilestone.cornwall.sch.uk. The second reports are now requested on an annual basis to ensure that all contacts are up to date. The duplicate report can be emailed to you, picked up from the school office if you are passing, or posted. Please request in which format you would  like this on your email. Please note that duplicate reports can only be offered to parents with parental responsibility.

Year 6 leaver’s hoodies

The ‘leavers hoodies’ for our Y6 children are still available. There is a choice of colour and styles which are now ready to order through an online shop and the process is simple for those who wish to purchase one:

  1. Go to the website (www.schoolleaverscompany.co.uk) and click on “Login” at the top of the  home page.
  2. Enter login details: USERNAME: SL49007 PASSWORD: 49007three
  3. Make your order

The online shop will close on 8th June 2020. There is now an option for these to be delivered to the home address, to do this make sure you select the ‘home delivery’ option.

Recovery plan

To reiterate what has been said previously, there is still no date for schools to return, and there is no guidance as to when and how this will happen. TPAT and the school are putting together a rough recovery plan at the moment, so that when it happens, the right plan of action for TMS is in place. The year 6 staff are in communication with Richard Lander to ensure the process is as thorough as we can make it under the current situation.

Learning at home

Staff are always really excited to receive emails from you all. Please can you keep this going as we are missing you! The communication with us is really important – not just seeing your amazing learning but your cakes, gardening, walks and sports skills are also making us smile! Please keep them coming as the link is really important.

As always, please take care of yourselves,

Ms Teagle
