Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Y6 Victorian Day

11th November 2019 in Humanities Team, Year 6

Year 6 had a super time today reenacting a Victorian school day. To start our day we practised our deportment skills – balancing a book on your head whilst walking is quite tricky! After that we came back to class to perfect our Victorian handwriting using chalk which we found smudged very easily. Our morning finished off by learning a list of English monarchs ready for a test and locating all countries in Europe with their capital cities. The boys in year 6 spent their afternoon practising their technical drawing skills with Mr Newsome whilst the girls were sewing outfits for peg dolls with Mrs Murt and Miss Bowen.

All the staff in year 6 would like to thank the pupils for their enthusiasm and excitement today. It was brilliant to see all the pupils really getting into character in order to get the most out of our day.
