This week both year 4 classes were lucky enough to be invited to visit Newquay Airport to meet the team that look after the Coastguard Helicopters. We were shown the operations room, the helicopters themselves and some of the rescue equipment used by the helicopter crew. The children had a great time experiencing a helicopter rescue as the crew winched them into the doors of the helicopter.
After our visit was over, we headed to Watergate Bay for lunch on the beach. The children then took part in a litter survey and were shocked at the amount of plastic waste in the high tide line.
