On Monday, in picture news, we looked at the impact of influencers and how what they do can affect our lives. We looked in depth at the new energy drink ‘PRIME’ (which was made by Youtubers KSI and Logan Paul) and some of the ways people behaved to attain this drink. Did people lose their values fighting over the drink? Did they change their values trying to make money from it? Lots of important conversations were had about British values and how people should behave.
In our Tuesday KS2 assembly, we did something a little different! Each class was set the challenge of completing a geography quiz online to test their locational knowledge. We were tested on the countries in the UK, continents, capital cities and more. Mrs Webb will keep adding new questions to our quiz and testing the geographical knowledge of everyone at TMS!
On Wednesday, Miss Bryant spoke to the children in both KS1 and KS2 about Art and Design at TMS. We talked about Art Unit Cover Sheets, Launchpads, the various sessions involved in an art unit and why we learn what we do! It was a nice way for us all to really reflect on WHY we learn what we do, when we do and how we do!
In Thursday’s assembly, Mrs Ewart spoke to Years 2- 6 about Walter Tull. Walter was a professional footballer in the early 1900s for Tottenham and then for Northampton town. Later in his life he joined the British Army and showed great bravery during the First World War, becoming the first black officer in the British army. Unfortunately, he lost his life leading his men on the battlefield towards the end of the war. He is now remembered for his bravery and achievements, even though often the odds were stacked against him.
