I was delighted to be asked to join Threemilestone School’s Governing Board as a co-opted governor in October 2019. Currently, I have two sons enjoying their time at the school – one just gone to secondary school and one just starting his adventures in Year 4.
I am a Criminologist and worked as a research lecturer at a Welsh University for fifteen years. On my return to Cornwall some years ago, I set up my own crime and social research consultancy. I collaborate with organisations across a range of sectors including education and health and social care and specialise in multi-agency working, safeguarding and enhancing support for vulnerable families and children.
I have come into school as a parent volunteer for a number of years and value the passion, skills and commitment demonstrated by all of the staff. I hope to be able to draw on my professional expertise to support the school in its strategic decision-making and the priorities it sets for the educational and social well being of all of our children.

I have been a Governor for almost 10 years having started when my eldest child was in year 3. Three of my children have been through the school and my youngest is in year 5, so I feel that I know the school quite well and have seen a lot of changes taking place. But one of the many joys of being a Governor is being part of those changes and supporting the school as it grows and develops. It's a great privilege to spend time in our school with our fabulous children and I've particularly enjoyed helping with the Year 5 and 6 trips to London. I feel very proud of our school and the opportunities that are offered to all our children

I’m really excited to have joined the governing team in summer 2021. It’s been a challenging few years and I’m really keen to support the school in any way I can to get the best out of the children.
I’ve worked in strategic policy over the last decade, with most of that in Cornwall Council and more recently in the Civil Service. Leading transformation projects and developing cross organisational partnerships to deliver strategic projects.
I have sons at the school in year 4 and in Year 1 who have thrived since starting at TMS and I have seen first hand how the school ethos and sense of community can bring the most out of the children and staff at Threemilestone School.

I am extremely pleased to become a parent governor at Threemilestone in 2020. I have a son in year 4 at Threemilestone and live locally to the school. As a secondary school science teacher I want to bring my experience and skills to the school to support it, and the staff, in any way I can.
When not working, our whole family enjoys a range of sports and the outdoor life and we try to explore as much of Cornwall as we possibly can.
I have been so pleased with the welcome I have been given both as a parent and as a governor within the school community.

Having three children at Threemilestone, I was really pleased to have the opportunity to join as a parent governor in July 2021. In my role as governor I want to be able to support the school as part of the community - those with children at the school and others in the local area.
In my day job I am an HR exec and there is a lot of skills that smoothly transfer from this to a role of a governor. I will be drawing on my role and experience to help the school continue to thrive where I can.

I am really pleased to have joined the team as a Parent Governor in Summer 2021. I have two sons who attend Threemilestone Primary School, my eldest is in KS2 and youngest is in Y2. I have always lived within the village and I attended Threemilestone Primary myself (many years ago!!), therefore I feel a strong connection to the school.
I work within the NHS as an Assistant Practitioner in Paediatric Dietetics. As a result of this I spend a lot of my time helping children and young people, which is something I really enjoy. I feel passionately that all children should be given equal opportunities, ensuring that they are happy, included and listened to; as well as being given the opportunity to thrive in a variety of areas such as sports and creative activities. I look forward to supporting the school to continue to offer the very best for our children.

I am a Teaching Assistant at the school, and have worked in years 4, 5 & 6.

I have been a teacher in EYFS and KS1 at our school since 2007. I am a senior teacher and presently part of the STEM team. I am committed to our school being the best that it can be as well as a special place for the children to learn and thrive. I am very proud and excited to become part of the TMS governing body!

I am the Associate Minister of All Saints Church, Highertown, a church which strongly believes in community involvement and inclusivity. Prior to this I ran Epiphany House, a Retreat and Conference Centre in Truro. That role involved me in financial management, people management, bringing a large scale building project from design to completion and caring for the spiritual life of the Centre. A large part of the role included offering a listening ear to our many and varied guests. I came to Cornwall from Cambridge where for 30 years I had worked as a Specialist Music Teacher in state primary and secondary schools, and was Music Lead in a Private Prep School. My first career (now, many years ago) was as a Research Associate in Marine Geomorphology working in an interdisciplinary team at Liverpool University.

I’m delighted to have joined Threemilestone School’s Governing Board as a co-opted governor.
I currently have one son in year 1 and another joining in a year’s time.
Despite starting my teaching career in primary (even completing one of my teaching placements at Threemilestone School), I’m currently an Assistant Headteacher of a secondary school, having been Head of Maths for a number of years.
I hope to use my broad and varied experience within the education sector to support the school, the children and the staff in any way I can.
Away from work, I’m a keen runner and an active member of Truro Running Club. I love the outdoors and try and spend as much time as possible with the family exploring Cornwall and all it has to offer!

Having recently retired from a busy and varied career including banking, education, and latterly as a Procurement Manager in Cornwall Council, I am keen to give something back to the community of Threemilestone where I have lived for the last 30 years.
Both of my adult daughters attended the school and loved their time there. I also worked at the school, first as a volunteer and then as an HLTA for several years. During this time I studied for a foundation degree in education and training.
I have a real interest in education and supporting children to be successful, and will be committed as a governor to be part of something exciting at Threemilestone.
