Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Head’s Update

3rd February 2023 in Headteacher's Update

The school is buzzing this week with the news of Mrs Ascroft’s dog Poppy starting at TMS – she even has her own jumper! Thank you so much for filling out the Google forms to help us ensure that all our children are safe and worry free.

With our focus on maths this term, TMS hosted Vic Tonkin, the TPAT maths lead, on Tuesday to work with Mr Wake and Miss Wallis investigating maths from EYFS to Year 2. Again, she was impressed with the mathematical understanding and language used to explain thinking and problem solving.

Our year 3 children visited Penlee Museum and Gallery and were not only complimented on their exceptional behaviour and manners, they stunned the hosts and our volunteer helpers with their extraordinary and thorough understanding of history from the Stone Age through to the Iron Age – Incredible! Thank you so much Y3 for representing the school so well.

This afternoon we had over 115 cross country athletes competing at Richard Lander School from KS2. Well done to everyone for taking part in such a mammoth challenge.

With only a week left until our half term break, we still have a lot of learning to cram in! We have safer internet day on Tuesday, organised by Mr Bagley; we are continuing our personal development curriculum by learning more about LGBT history month; then finishing the week with the ‘Poppy the dog’ day; and of course, the PTFA cake and uniform sale!
