Where learning is fuelled by creativity

PEARL OF AFRICA CHOIR @ RLS

22nd September 2023 in Our Community

Many of you will know about the amazing link between Richard Lander School and the Pearl of Africa Children’s Choir. They are coming this year once again, and are inviting children in Years 4, 5, 6 in their feeder schools to a workshop at RLS, which will be hosting at Richard Lander School.

Primary partner children will spend the morning session at RLS, working with the Pearl of Africa Children’s choir, doing a variety of activities such as African song, African dance, drumming workshops.  This will culminate in an evening concert where parents will be invited along with their children.  Parents will be able to see their children perform alongside the choir in one of the songs.

RLS are charging £15 per child to take part in the workshop. We are able to pay £5 per child attending to show the support to the great work, and parents/carers to pay the remaining £10. If your child is entitled to Pupil Premium we will be able to pay the whole amount. By charging, this means that the choir would raise sufficient funds to make the day worthwhile as part of their fundraising tour.  Essentially they are in the UK for a few weeks performing in schools across the Country from Liverpool all the way down to Cornwall fundraising for their schools.

We propose that the date will be 17th November, but we realise this may change.

If you are interested, please fill out the google form so that we are able to let RLS know approximate numbers, and if  goes ahead, we will let you know more information when confirmed.
