Where learning is fuelled by creativity

EYFS – week beginning 11.2.19

15th February 2019 in Early Years, Uncategorized

Even though this week was only 4 days long, we have packed it full of exciting learning opportunities.

In Maths, we have been learning about teen numbers and the fact that they are made of 10 and some more. We have used our toes to make ten and then our fingers to make the “more”. We have made numbers with 10 blocks and Numicon, we have written number sentences and we have made Numicon number lines.  2019-02-13 14.00.46 2019-02-13 14.01.22

In phonics this week we learned 2 new digraphs – ng and ai. We are still trying to learn to join them when we are writing.

Our star learning has been about Bats and we were thrilled to have 2 little Pipistrelle bats in our classroom on Thursday afternoon. They were brought in to school by Mrs Tyler who volunteers for the Bat Conservation Trust. She was really informative. If you are interested in finding out more about bats, this website www.bats.org.uk might be a good place to start.

We had a celebration this week, because each of our “teams” filled their star token cylinders.

We hope that you all have a fantastic Half Term. Keep going with those challenges – we would be thrilled to see how you are doing on Tapestry. We will be revisiting our challenges after half term.
