Year 5 really enjoyed their trips to Truro High School over the last couple of Mondays. It was great to have the expertise of the Roseland Observatory staff to allow to children deepen their understanding and tap into an incredible source of knowledge! The children got a chance to examine meteorites and use solar telescopes as well as learning how to tell the time using sun dials and finding out more about our solar system. An extra bonus was being able to see a replica of Tim Peake’s space pod and some children even got to try out the sleeping bag velcro-ed to the wall! The children all took advantage of this fantastic opportunity and asked some superbly insightful questions.
A massive thank you to the High School for accommodating us!
