Really good to see so many of you in music this week. Great singing and percussion playing!
Today we explored different sounds and how each sound has it’s own unique colour, character and sound. This is called TIMBRE.Timbre is the character or quality of a musical sound.
When composing it’s up to the composer to choose which mix of sounds they want to mix together.

COMPOSING AND IDEAS TO WRITE DOWN OUR MUSIC
Thank you for your photos and pictures of your brilliant percussion instruments that you found at home. Using our four sounds we can now compose our own animal piece of music. Have a watch of the film showing selecting sounds and ideas for how to write down our own music. KS1 Composing and writing down our music A worksheet to us is below. Have fun making up your own song and send in your worksheet (to music@threemilestone.cornwall. sch.uk) showing how you’ve written it down (using notation) and / or photos of you singing your song. What animals will you use? What sound will they make? How will you write down their sounds?

Have another go at the Hey Ungua warm up song. Good to warm up your brain in the morning! Can you do the body percussion at the same time as singing?
COMPOSING RAP LYRICS – WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Today we looked at 4 beat phrases and answers learning a song, about looking after the environment and each other, called ‘Making a difference’. Inspired by a primary school in Ireland who wrote their own rap all about making a difference in their own small way, we thought we’d have a go at bringing together our own rap about making a difference and learning together during lockdown? We need some words – have a go at writing one line or a few more. They may rhyme or maybe they don’t.
Here are some examples:
We’re making a difference at Threemilestone School – great things happen, creativity’s our fuel
We can make a difference in our own small way – one small change we can do that today.
Learning maths 3, 6, 9 – learning together one step at a time
Don’t put off what we can do today – a lot of little bits’ll go a long long way.
There is a worksheet below, write in your lyrics / words and send them in to: music@threemilestone.cornwall. sch.uk
Keep singing and making music.
See you next week!
