At the start of the year, Year 6 immersed themselves in the world of Claude Monet and impressionist painting. We learnt all about Claude Monet and the events of his life which would have a profound impact on his painting style. Through imitating Monet, we learnt about different mark making, how to use shade and tone and using different brushing techniques to create texture. Finally, we created our own landscape paintings, which incorporated much of Monet’s style, as well as being able to add our own individuality and creativity to the final piece.
