Where learning is fuelled by creativity

A week of reflection

12th November 2021 in Headteacher's Update

This week has been a really special week thinking about Remembrance Day. It is something we really take time over at TMS, building understanding of the historical impact, as well as commemorating the special day. It has also been our English subject review week, where our English team (Miss Bowen, Miss Grubb and Mrs Brown) have been into every class, looking at books, watching the teaching and the most important thing, talking to children about their learning. There is so much exciting learning going on, showing consistency across classes, and really hard thinking in class. Linked with these lessons, it has been a chance for other teachers to pop into other lessons. We are lucky to have a strong team of staff who are so eager to learn off each other and welcome anyone into their classrooms!

Teachers have also commented on how lovely it has been to catch up with everyone through their virtual face to face meetings. It has been exciting to talk to parents about the progress made. Remember that we are always here if you need a follow up conversation – communication at TMS is key and the more we communicate, the more your child will feel supported.

Next week in anti bullying week we are focusing on kindness. joining the National drive, we will be encouraging children to wear odd socks to celebrate differences!

With Christmas approaching, please be aware of the dates – there are lots of events happening and we will try our best to keep everyone up to date!
