All the pupils in Year 5 had the opportunity to work with a Cornish author and illustrator, Ali Hoswell. Their artwork was based around images from a book they have been studying during English lessons called The Man Engine Remembers by Will Coleman. Ali helped the children experiment with different brush techniques and colour mixing as well as encouraging them to experiment with their own creativity to produce a piece of artwork based on The Man Engine’s face. All the children immersed themselves into the art lesson and produced work they were proud of, each using their own unique style. The children were impressed with having a “real artist” to work with and Ali was equally impressed by the pieces they created.
