Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Assemblies -week beginning 11.10.21

22nd October 2021 in Assemblies

In KS2 assemblies this week, Miss Bowen and Mr Bagley continued the theme of Black History Month. We explored the journey of both Mary Seacole and her link to Florence Nightingale. We discussed the similarities between their journeys and lives but also the challenges Mary Seacole faced to achieve all that she did.

EYFS and KS1 heard the story of ‘Best of friends’ and we talked about acceptance and what makes a good friend (linked to words and you heart).

With Mr Lara, the children listened to ‘Katie in London’ and discussed the importance of role models, using the school rules to demonstrate what a good role model would consider before acting.
