Assemblies – Week beginning 22.1.21 – Perseverance

28th February 2021 in Assembly

In our whole school assemblies Mr Hick looked at the word perseverance and what this meant. With the children he took a journey through history looking at some of the most well known explorers in history, from the Phoenicians and Christopher Columbus through to Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, all of who would have had to show perseverance in exploring our planet – overcoming many difficulties. The children spent some time with Mr Hick discussing how human exploration had advanced even further and finished with a look at the Mars ‘Perseverance‘ Rover and exploration beyond our own planet. With perseverance it may be that one of our children could be the first person to step foot on Mars!
