With Monday celebrating Harvest, we discussed the great achievements of Malala in the other assemblies this week!
We found it hard to believe that Malala was in a country where the education of girls was banned and groups of people, including Malala’s father (who started a school for girls) stood up for what they believed in to ensure that the children of Pakistan had access to the basic human right: the right to an education. In one of the world’s most volatile places, it as still important to stand up for what you believe in. After a devastating incident where Malala was shot by the Taliban on transport from school, Malala too became stronger, and despite being so close to death, she has devoted her life to campaigning for education for girls across the world. What an incredible person affecting the lives of so many today.

We also revisited ‘Words and your Heart’ acknowledging how powerful words can be – both positively and negatively.
