This week in assembly with Mrs Ewart, we found about the importance of Ramadan in the Muslim faith. We learnt about how the Islamic calendar has 9 months, and that the month of Ramadan does not happen at exactly the same time each year. We heard about how Muslims fast during daylight hours in Ramadan, but also how Ramadan is a time for reflection – thinking about others, but also our own actions. It was so lovely to hear from children during the assembly about how they mark Ramadan with their families at home.
