On Tuesday afternoon, the children in Year 5 were lucky enough to be visited by the Coastguard. Bradley, Gill and Georgia came in to school to talk to us all about the role of the Coastguard in keeping us all safe. We were fascinated to hear all about the different roles people take on in the coastguard – voluntary and paid – and the sort of qualifications you might need to join this special service. As a year group, we found it really interesting to hear about all of the resources available to the coastguard and how they work to coordinate life saving events. We cannot thank our visitors enough for answering our questions to thoughtfully and giving us an insight into their brilliant jobs!
