Year 3&4 Tennis – Playing in the year 3/4 tennis match at the Cornwall Games. We had Ruby,Eleanor,Barney and Abel, who represented TMS. Each in turn were a credit to themselves and to TMS. Each player gave it their very best. They all showed resilience and confidence, in each of the matches they took part in. Each player showed brilliant tennis skills. Everyone supported each other and in turn all had a fantastic experience. – Miss Penrose
Year 5&6 Tennis All 4 members of the TMS tennis team were well behaved, showed respect and displayed great determination on the court. The teams they played were Archbishop Benson, Cornish Bishop and Saint Mary’s. Year 5 and 6 made it through to the final after some close score matches they lost to ST Enoc 3-1 in the final ending up silver medal winners. Justin Andrew
The gymnastics teams were both excited, nervous and determined in their approach to these games. Years 5/6 were ready to defend their title from their cluster final all the way back in January. Years 3/4 were exceptionally nervous, as they were a last minute entry into the games, only days earlier. The 5/6 team proudly came 3rd and took home a bronze medal. The 3/4 team sadly didn’t take home any medals, but should be so proud of how they accepted a last minute challenge and went for it anyway. They all made the school proud and we are looking forward to next year. We also wish Sophie, our only year 6 competitor in gymnastics, good luck for next years games in RLS. Miss Tickle
Our team of eight gymnasts did brilliantly, showing their skills on the floor. Each gymnast performed two routines – body management and floor exercises – demonstrating their strength and flexibility. Our Years 3 and 4 were fantastic, coming fourth in the whole of Cornwall, whilst our Years 5 and 6 won the bronze medal. Mr Hamshar
Quadkids The Cornwall School Games was absolutely brilliant yet again! The year 3&4 quadkids showed so much resilience and determination. We struggled in some of our races but shone in our field events. Diego had the second best throw in the vortex, throwing it 34 metres and Lewis had the best timed 400m run of the day with 81 seconds. They all absolutely smashed it, we took home a silver medal (second best in Cornwall).
Everyone who came with us represented the school brilliantly!
Overall this year in the Cornwall School Games we have achieved:
Gold in Netball Y5&6
Silver in Indoor Athletics Y5&6
Silver in Indoor Athletics Y3&4
Bronze in Gymnastics Y5&6
Silver in Tennis Y5&6
Silver in Quadkids Y3&4
What an achievement TMS 2022
