Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Egyptian Printing with Y6!

5th December 2020 in Creative Team, Year 6
Year 6 have had such a fantastic week this week. Despite our school feeling very Christmassy at the moment, we are still eagerly continuing our learning on the Ancient Egyptians! This week, we have been learning about the significance of the Rosetta Stone and how it’s discovery has helped Egyptologists to decipher ancient hieroglyphic symbols. We then began to print our own ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs for ourselves! We used three different printing techniques: mono printing, string printing and relief printing (also known as block printing).
A challenge from us! Have a look through these photos of our learning and ask your child  if they can tell you which printing technique is in each photo. They’ve done an amazing job!
