Where learning is fuelled by creativity

What an exciting week! Along with Key Stage 1 we got to see a show by Kernow King where we learned about some important people in Cornish history and then on Wednesday afternoon in EYFS we had a visit from Cornish author Alasdair Hoswell. We’ve been reading his book ‘There’s something nasty in my pasty’ already but it was really special to hear an author read his own book! The children have been really inspired to complete their own written entries for the school book which is to be published soon along with drawing illustrations. We have also enjoyed tasting pasties, making our own ones out of playdough and learning how to crimp them! We are hoping to still have the opportunity to make some of our own after half term.

New sounds this week were sh, th (voiced and unvoiced as in ‘this’ and ‘thin’) and ng. We are trying really hard to do joined up writing when we are learning digraphs! In maths we are comparing numbers up to 10 using the vocabulary more, less, fewer, same and equal. We are now all looking forward to Enrichment week where we will be learning in our teams and attending our trips!
