What an unusual week this has been for everyone, something that we have never encountered before. The children as usual have been amazing and have continued to be thoroughly engrossed in their learning. They were looking forward to having you in for cream teas; we still went ahead with the baking and were very impressed with how they managed to prepare the scones themselves ~ jam on first of course! (This is our scone recipe if you fancy a go at home Basic Scones Recipe)
We have been learning to tell the story of Owl Babies as well as enjoying some role play with wings and masks! We learned the ‘ow’ sound in phonics to help with our owl writing too.
Our number bonds to 10 learning continued into STAR Exploration with a ‘bus’ in the classroom with the children working out how many were on the bus, how many more could fit on and so on. Outside we had the opportunity to observe the daffodils and tulips that we have grown from the bulbs we planted before Christmas, and some of us painted them too.
Hopefully you have all received the maths pouches now; we are delighted to see some home learning already on Tapestry!
Tapestry is now going to be even more important to us all as a means of communication.
We will be putting ideas for learning on there and we are really looking forward to seeing photos of your learning at home. If you have any questions, please post them on Tapestry as we will be waiting to hear from you.
Thank you so much for the incredible support we have received ~ it means so much.
