This has been another busy fortnight for EYFS! Our maths learning has included investigating and understanding the numbers 7, 8, 9 and 10; we are learning what these numbers are as well as what they are not which has increased our depth of understanding. Our STAR learning has given us the opportunity to learn about Cornish mining which we have linked to the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The story of Chinese New Year allowed us to use our phonics and maths skills as well as listening to Chinese music and making dragon pictures.
On Thursday we were part of a UK wide online audience for orchestral music for Early Years! There was the opportunity to meet different instruments of the orchestra, learn new songs and to perform them alongside the orchestra. The children thoroughly enjoyed this new experience.
In phonics we have learnt several new sounds including some digraphs, which the children are very keen to point out! (y, z, zz, ch, qu) These have been added to the sounds pouches.
It was fantastic to see so many of you at the Curriculum evening on Wednesday too ~ hopefully it was enjoyable and useful!
