Where learning is fuelled by creativity

EYFS Blog ~ week beginning 18.11.19

22nd November 2019 in Early Years

Our ‘Let’s Celebrate’ STAR learning continued this week with a visit to TMS Methodist Church where we learnt from Rev Mark Liddicoat about how Christians celebrate. We listened to a story by the ‘Open the book’ group and learnt a song called ‘He’s got the whole world in his hands’.

We have also enjoyed celebrating World Nursery Rhyme week! We have learnt lots of rhymes, listened to each other reciting them and have enjoyed discovering more about them in STAR Exploration. If your child hasn’t prepared their nursery rhyme to perform in class yet, there is still time! We look forward to hearing some more next week.

The new sounds we have learnt are f, ff, l and ll, and we have been investigating ‘1 more’ in maths.

We are really excited to say that we have also started learning some songs for our nativity which will be performed on 10th December! Next week we will be assigning parts to the children, and then we can let you know if there are any costume requirements (we do have quite an extensive range of costumes in EYFS!). Some children might have some spoken words to learn too. A very exciting time of year!
