Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Geography – The World Cup

19th November 2022 in Humanities Team, Sports, Whole School
Geography has been a big focus at TMS over the last few weeks. With the World Cup starting this weekend, we didn’t want to miss a chance to extend our geography learning even further. Over the coming weeks, not only will we be getting excited about the football, but we will also be immersing ourselves in all things maps, locations and the world!
In class, we will have the opportunity to explore Qatar and Doha and their physical and human geography, as well as getting to grips with issues surrounding sustainability and human rights further up the school.
We would love for you to get involved at home too. Attached are some geography enquiry questions for you to spend some time looking into together. We would encourage all families to explore the location of Qatar and Doha on maps, have conversations about Qatar’s location and how this affects its climate, to research its famous landmarks and landscapes and to debate whether the World Cup is a good thing for the people of Qatar.
We can’t wait to see all of your amazing home learning coming into school soon!
