On Tuesday 27th June, the girls played against St Agnes school at TMS in a friendly football match. It was amazing: there were so many supporters, and this was so lovely to see! First up were the year 3&4 girls team who played 20 minutes each way and loved every minute of it; this team will definitely be a team to watch out for in the future. The players were Wren, I’Ola, Layla, Izzy, Ella-Mae, Lottie, Teigan, Amalia and Thea. It was such a close game and the final score was 4-4.
The year 5&6 match then started. The players were Ava, Maisie, Lily, Eliza, Immy, Lauren, Katie, Esme, Bobbi and Sam. They played absolutely amazingly. We had so many chances but didn’t quite manage to put the ball away! We lost 1-0, with the goal being scored in the last 3 minutes of the game. But spirits were high and everyone had such a good evening.
Thank you all so much for your support, and let’s keep focusing on girls in sport – Lionesses, here we come! On July 22nd at 10:30am, England Women have their first game, so please tune in!
