We are definitely in full swing of Autumn term. Not only has this week brought a real excitement of learning in classrooms, we are also starting to look to our community to be part of something for everyone! The year 5s have visited the Langarth site linking to their learning on Settlements, starting to understand the exciting process of the next 25 years; swimming is about to start in Year 5; the PFTA have had a really positive first meeting; clubs have started; all our EYFS are starting to explore their new environment; Sam from All Saints is continuing his work with year 6s; and Year 1 and 2 will be exploring our local environment next week. We also have met with our newly voted in PALs (Pupils as Leaders) and we have been ‘exploring’ leadership in assemblies, looking at the different leadership styles of explorers, especially the great achievements of Shackleton in particular. We also have had our first sporting event – KS1 multiskills! Thank you Mrs Murt for taking an enthusiastic group, and next week we have girls football travelling off to Penair.
We are starting to put together a programme of family workshops so that families have the opportunities to be part of and understand more about their children’s learning. Throughout the year, year groups will be putting together a program of after school learning workshops, learning with children in the classroom and Zoom sessions in the evening, so that you as families can explore different aspects of your children’s learning, hopefully at points the day where you can access. If you want to join in other year groups, then let us know and we will be ever so willing to welcome you in! We have EYFS, Y1 and Y4 arranged, and the other year group information will follow!
