Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Head’s Update

24th February 2023 in Headteacher's Update

Welcome back after the half term break! We hope you managed to have a lovely week relaxing and spending time
with those closest to you.

It has been fantastic to see the children settling back into learning so well – with new curriculum areas having started
with enthusiasm! Please take the time to look at the STAR guides on the year group page of the website (used to help
prompt memory to retrieve knowledge), as well as what is being learned in English and Maths. Homelearning ideas
are also found on the year group page. There, you will also find the ‘Launchpads’ for each subject area – these provide
all the knowledge the children need to remember, and it is this knowledge which is used in interactive quizzes, games
and activities. If you want a greater explanation in how these launchpads, icons and STAR guides are used, do not
hesitate to pop into school and ask!

Next week, we take part in the National World Book Day celebrations! Please note that although we will be having a
Cornish legend themed day, and it would be great if we saw Cornish costumes being worn, anything worn with a literary base will be welcomed!!! There is no need to buy something specific – we will welcome all characters, however simply dressed! An advanced warning… Comic relief at TMS – 17th March – dressing up in something silly, red, ridiculous… Anything goes!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms Teagle – Headteacher
