You can see from our website entries what an exciting week it has been! TMS celebrate World Book Day each year, with a focus on the enjoyment of books. The theme of Cornish Legends ran through the school with tales of Bolster, Cormoran, and The Mermaid of Zennor oozing out of every classroom. The children then linked with their partner class to share a World Book Day Quiz, making new friends across the school and having fun! Dressing up is always a nice additional extra with no pressure, but for those who did dress up, we could see such care, commitment and creativity to costumes – thank you – we know that these creations couldn’t just happen overnight!

We have also welcomed Mr Rowland, our new year 4 teacher taking over from Miss Burt after Easter. He has had a fantastic time in Bessy’s Cove getting to know our children and will be back for many more days before the end of term for a successful transition. 

A massive thank you to all our children and parents this week who have been understanding through a week of high staff illness. Many have been hit by general cold, flu and migraines, which we know has a knock on effect across the school. With sleep over the weekend, we shall be fighting fit next week!

With daffodils flowering and lighter mornings and evenings, Spring is just about here! I hope you all have a lovely weekend, finding time to be outside and of course, keeping up to date with all the St Pirans celebrations!
