Indoor Athletics Success for TMS

12th March 2026 in Sports, Year 4, Year 6
Today our Year 4 and Year 6 pupils proudly represented TMS at the Indoor Athletics competition held at Richard Lander School. Competing against Mount Hawke School in all of their races, the children performed brilliantly and showed fantastic determination throughout the afternoon.
For the Year 4 team, the event was a wonderful first experience of indoor athletics. They rose to the challenge and won 50% of their races, which was an excellent achievement. They also performed very well in the field events, and we look forward to finding out the official results on Monday.
Our Year 6 team had an outstanding afternoon, winning 11 out of their 12 races. Many of these victories were by a considerable distance, showing the team’s strength and confidence. In the field events we also heard that some records may have been broken, which is incredibly exciting. We will confirm these results once they are sent to us on Monday.
It was a lovely afternoon at Richard Lander School, and the sportsmanship shown by all of our pupils was extraordinary. The encouragement they gave to one another and their determination to give 100% in every event made us extremely proud. Most importantly, there were smiles all around.
A big thank you to Mrs Brown and to Mrs Hick for helping the event run smoothly.
Well done to everyone who took part!

Miss Andrew

The results are now in for the Indoor Athletics competition, and it was an incredible day of sport and teamwork for TMS!
It is with great honour that we can announce that our Year 6 team were undefeated, coming 1st place overall in both track and field for boys and girls. The events included obstacle relay, over and under, 1 lap, 2 lap, 6 lap, relay, javelin, vertical jump, long jump, speed bounce, chest push and triple jump. Every pupil showed fantastic determination, teamwork and effort throughout the competition.
Our Year 4 team also took part in the same events. They placed 2nd in the track events, competing closely against Mount Hawke School. However, they showed great resilience and determination in the field events, where they secured 1st place for both boys and girls, bringing the points back for the team.
With such amazing performances across both year groups, TMS were crowned the overall winners!

A huge well done to everyone who took part. You represented the school brilliantly, and we are all extremely proud of you all.
