This week we had the privilege of visiting all KS2 classes with Mr Walden – the Headteacher of Roche School – to look at the progress of all our KS2 readers. We use the same reading comprehension strategy as many other TPAT schools which is really useful to benchmark and share expertise.

Our reading leads at TMS in KS2 are Mrs Webb and Miss Body and we were so excited to see the strategy in full flow. The confidence when reading aloud was startling – making use  of our TMS SHAPE Speaking (Sit /stand up, hand away from mouth, articulate, project and Eye contact) to engage the listener. We are getting so skilful at answering vocabulary and retrieval questions, really unpicking areas to work on next!
