Where learning is fuelled by creativity

Learning at home

20th March 2020 in Uncategorized

Dear Parent/Carers,

This letter sets up ideas and provision for your children  to continue their learning at home.

Learning at home

On our school website there is learning for the week coming:

Home page > Learning > choose your year group

We have also set up email addresses for you and your children to contact your class teachers.

EYFS                 Communication will continue through Tapestry

Years 1-6         We have set up email addresses for you to contact your class teachers

direct. Through this, you are able to ask questions, discuss learning, and also to send in any learning which children want to show their teachers. Teachers will be able to respond to any emails between 830-5 on weekdays.

Please can you email your teacher on the appropriate year group email, along with your name and the name of your child, so that they have your most uptodate email address.

As always, Mrs Ewart our SENDCo can also be contacted at cewart@threemilestone.cornwall.sch.uk for advice and support.

After Easter, we will be offering other aspects of learning to our children. Our STAR learning across the school will be World War 2, and Learning letters and homelearning grids will be shared as per usual, in line with the usual term start.

Although there are many online learning opportunities, as always we value the learning off line. There are many, many activities which have more value than online games – try some!

  • Beetle drive
  • Yahtzee
  • Scrabble
  • Pairs
  • Making friendship bracelets
  • Cat’s cradle
  • Dot to dot
  • Word searches
  • Jigsaw puzzles

ALL of these support your child’s developmental progress more than many, many online games!

We will be updating you with other activities you can do outside, and away from the screen, throughout the next week. We will also be updating you on reminders on how to keep safe online.

During this period, teachers will be in school working, working at home, or on leave as will be required to work over the holidays.

They will be involved in being accessible for your children online, as well as providing childcare for those who the government has said will be coming to school. Additionally, they will be planning future learning, completing assessments including those which are shared through email and writing reports. We are also exploring other creative ways of teaching e.g. webinars and video guides which we can use if the need arises. Alongside this our school team are also committed to supporting communities through foodbank work, delivery and in any other ways possible.

We are devastated at not being able to see all the children everyday and not finishing the year as planned. Your children will continue to be in our thoughts and will be making as must virtual contact as possible.

As always, any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Ms Teagle
