Where learning is fuelled by creativity

13th February 2020 in Whole School

Red team enjoyed a fantastic day today at the Maritime Museum! Everyone got the chance to listen to the story of Joe Kilinak, a Cornish fisherman, who sailed in his boat, The Mystery, all the way to Australia from Newlyn Harbour.

For the rest of the day, our EYFS and year 1 children created and sailed their own boats – with Macie being crowned the champion of champions! Children from KS2 learnt the create their own ropes using traditional methods, and got to race electric boats in the boating pool.
We also had lots of fun exploring the museum and all its fascinating exhibits. Everyone behaved brilliantly throughout the visit and were a credit to their families and our school. A massive thank you too to all of our parent helpers for making our day possible – we really appreciate it.
Thank you Red team for bringing so much enthusiasm, excitement and energy to such a special week. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we have.
