It has been a real pleasure to spend time with the children at TMS these past two weeks – from EYFS, all the way up to Year 6. The mathematical learning going on at our school has a great depth to it and it is clear that all of the hard work our teachers and support staff are putting into their planning, sequencing and questioning is really making a difference to the children’s understanding. There is a genuine passion for maths right across the school and this has been evident in the children’s reasoning skills in particular. It is lovely to see the children taking pride in their maths book as well, taking real ownership and pride over them. I want to say a massive thank you to all of the staff and children for welcoming me into their classrooms this past fortnight – it has been most enjoyable and incredibly positive. Don’t forget to keep rehearsing those times tables and number bonds!
