Musician of the Month – September – Kate Bush

28th August 2025 in Creative Team

Kate Bush (born 1958) is a magical musician from England who became famous for her imaginative songs and unique voice. She started writing music when she was just a young girl, and by the time she was 19, her song “Wuthering Heights” became a number-one hit in the UK!

What made Kate special was how she mixed different styles of music—like pop, rock, classical, and even folk—to create something totally new and exciting. Her songs often tell stories, sometimes inspired by books or dreams, and she loved using dance and costumes to make her performances feel like mini-theatre shows.

One of her most famous songs, “Running Up That Hill,” became popular again many years later when it was featured in a TV show called Stranger Things. Kate didn’t always follow the rules of pop music—she liked to take her time and make sure her music was just right. She even produced her own albums, which is a big job!

Many other artists say Kate Bush inspired them to be creative and brave with their music. Today, she’s known as one of the most original and influential musicians in the world, and her songs continue to enchant new generations of listeners
